Where do I get a claim number?
Claim numbers are issued by the insurance company at the time you report your accident. Just write it down and bring it with you when you come in to begin the repair process, we will do the rest.
How long will my vehicle take to be repaired?
Many factors go into the length of the repair. Most repairs will take under one week but some vehicles that have a lot of damage may take up to 30 days to repair. Our experienced staff will make every effort to get your vehicle repaired in a timely manner. From bumper replacement to roll-over vehicles, you can be rest assured that your vehicle is repaired the right way. When we complete an estimate on your vehicle, we will be able to establish the amount of time it will take to repair your vehicle. And, while your vehicle is being repaired, we can set up a rental car so you will not be without transportation.
If my vehicle’s frame is damaged is it a total loss?
No. A car is a total loss only when the price of repairs exceeds the insurance company’s determined value of your vehicle. Nowadays, most cars are built using unibody (frame and body as one) construction. Our highly skilled technicians, with the aid of our state-of-the -art computer measuring system, can return your vehicle to its original factory specifications. If it is determined that the frame section is bent beyond repair that section can simply be replaced.
Can I get a ride home?
Yes, we can give you a ride home. We can drop you off where you need to go within a 10 minute radius of the shop and when your vehicle is completed we can pick you up if needed.
How will I know when my vehicle is ready for pickup?
You will be notified by phone when your vehicle is ready for pickup. We will keep you informed about the status of your repair. Please feel free to call our friendly staff at any time if you have questions about your vehicle.
What is a deductible?
The deductible is the amount you must pay toward a claim before your insurance begins to pay. For example, if you have a $1,500 claim and your policy has a $500 deductible, you will pay the $500 and your insurance will pay $1,000. If you have any questions please contact your insurance agent and they can help you.
Who do I pay my deductible to?
The deductible is paid to Texas Auto Barn, LLC. in the form of cash, check or credit card when the vehicle is picked up. The deductible must be paid in full before the vehicle is released.
How do I care for my newly painted vehicle?
Minimal care is required to maintain the shine of your newly painted vehicle.
- Do not wax your vehicle for 90 days
- Use only car wash soap to clean your new paint finish
- Do not apply magnetic signs, protective bras, decals, or stickers to the new paint finish for 90 days
- Only hand-wash or use a touch-less machine wash for the first 90 days
- If any bird droppings or tree sap gets on the new paint try to wash it off as quickly as possible to avoid any markings.
Do you have to paint my whole vehicle and/or how do you ensure that the paint matches.
No. Our highly skilled, PPG trained technicians, along with the help of our specialized paint matching computers, will match your painted repairs to the original color of the rest of your vehicle. We strive for perfect repairs.
Is there a charge for obtaining an estimate from Texas Auto Barn – Auto Body Shop?
No. We provide a free estimate service for all customers. The estimates are done by highly qualified individuals using the most up to date computer estimating system available. As the owner of a motor vehicle damaged in an accident, you have the right to choose the shop where you wish to have your vehicle repaired. This is the law!
Why do you need my vehicles VIN number?
The estimating system we use requires a VIN number to pull up the year, make & model of your vehicle plus shows us all the options that it has.
Do I need more than one estimate?
No. Do not waste your time or that of several shops getting estimates. Select a repair facility that you feel comfortable with, then notify your agent or insurance company, or ask the shop to make the call on your behalf. Your insurance adjuster may have to inspect the damage. This can be done at an insurance drive thru claim center or at the shop you have chosen.
Do I need an appointment to obtain an estimate?
No, you do not need an appointment to obtain an estimate, please feel free to stop in anytime for a free estimate. Our Body Shop hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday, excluding holidays.
Does Texas Auto Barn – Auto Body Shop repair vehicles from insurance estimates?
Yes. We do the repairs per the insurance estimate so that if there is a problem with any parts the adjuster located, such as it being damaged during shipping or not available we can contact that adjuster and make them aware.
What if damages are found that are not listed on the estimate?
This damage is known as “hidden damage” and once found, the insurance company and/or customer are notified as to the nature of the damage and the cost of the repair to be performed.
Is your work limited to certain types of vehicles?
No. We service all makes and models or automobiles and trucks. We welcome the opportunity to assist you with your repair needs.
What is the warranty on the paint?
The paint guarantee is for product failure; cracking, fading & peeling for the life of your vehicle as long as you are the owner.
Is there a warranty period on parts and labor performed in the Body Shop?
Yes, the OEM manfacturer’s warranty may vary on the parts used and labor performed. Warranty on Non-OEM parts varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. We will help you obtain this information.
If I am having work performed under an insurance estimate, who is responsible for payment?
The owner of the vehicle is responsible for payment of repairs. We at Texas Auto Barn will be happy to assist you in making the necessary arrangements with your Insurance Company.
Can my car be released without payment?
No. Company Policy requires that payment be made in the form of an insurance check (you may sign the insurance check over to us or deposit it and make a new check out to us), personal check, credit card (not to exceed $5,000) or cash. Payment must be obtained prior to releasing the vehicle unless other arrangements have been made). Occasionally, checks are issued by insurance companies made payable to financial institutions. Please understand ALL endorsements must be present before we can accept a check for payment.
Does Texas Auto Barn supply rental or loaner cars?
During this time, loss of transportation is solely the responsibility of the party or insurance company accepting liability for your loss or damages. We do not provide loaner or rental vehicles, but would be more than willing to set one up if you have an insurance claim number or we can get you in contact with the appropriate companies that can. We pledge to provide quality repairs to your vehicle as quickly as possible. We can only estimate the time your vehicle will take to complete; however, situations may occur delaying the delivery date. Examples of this are: supplemental or hidden damage, additional parts needing to be ordered and insurance approvals.
